Numbered cards and 1/1 editions, explained
Read serial numbers, distinguish an edition from a variant, and understand what a one-of-one art card means before choosing a collectible.

Read both sides of the slash
A serial number such as 07/50 usually identifies one example within a stated edition of 50. The denominator applies to the edition or variant the maker describes. It does not necessarily count every version of the artwork.
A base edition and a different finish may have separate runs. Keep the release name and finish alongside the serial number in your collection notes.
What “one of one” actually identifies
A 1/1 designation describes a single example of a specified card or edition. Another finish, printing plate or later interpretation may depict the same subject. Read the scope of the claim: unique finish, unique version and unique artwork are not automatically the same thing.
Our drop pages describe the edition being offered. If a run size has not been announced, it remains unannounced; a countdown or a dramatic finish is not evidence of a particular print run.
Rarity, condition and provenance are separate
A small edition tells you about the stated supply of that version. It does not describe the card’s condition, prove third-party authentication or guarantee resale demand. Choose work you want to own and check how the maker documents its release.
Save the original listing, order confirmation and any edition documentation. Photograph the front, back and serial number when your collectible arrives.
Choose the finish you want to live with
Look for several angles when comparing foil, glitter or cracked-ice treatments. Light can change the appearance considerably. Check the actual gallery and the description for the version being sold, including its holder and packaging.
Keep a display away from direct sunlight and damp conditions, handle exposed cards by the edges and choose protection that fits without forcing the card. A collectible should be easy to enjoy after the unboxing.
